Learn to Design and Build Intelligent Machines
Designed for students entering grades 6-9

Interested in mechanical or electrical technologies? Then this hands-on Mechatronics Camp is for you! Participants will have exciting and engaging, real-world experiences exploring mechanical, electrical and robotics while in team situations. Additionally, students will learn to weave professional engineering and development tools together and build complex IoT (Internet of Things) machines in a fun and enriching environment!

During Mechatronics Camp, participants will tackle the basics and then explore the more complex tools used by engineers in the industry today. Successful students will learn to see the world of machines as accessible, modifiable, and hackable, while providing a breadth of experiences from iterative design to machine control theory and practice.

Projects include: Building your own touchscreen Linux tablet computer and getting that tablet to physically control another environment remotely over the internet, designing and building complex autonomous machines and iterative prototyping with a variety of power tools, 3D printing, and working with CNC machines. Tools to be used in conjunction with each other include:

Coding Hardware Tools
Java
Processing
G-Code
Python
Raspberry Pi
Arduino
Discrete Components
PWM Motor Control
Power Saws
CNC Cutter
Soldering
3D Printing

The ultimate goal of Mechatronics Camp is to inspire and educate students about engineering technology and the many exciting career opportunities available to them in today's high-tech industry. The course content within each session is the same, but can be repeated. Sign up today to help their futures be bright!
